UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer's Kai Forsyth (Derby, England) has earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Forsyth played in 168 of the 180 minutes over the weekend as the Cardinals drew 0-0 against Purdue Northwest and Parkside. He led a defensive core that held the Lions to four shots and only one on goal in the first match of the weekend. Then, the Rangers totaled 14 and five but the team outshot UWP 13-5 in the second half along with outshooting PNW 9-1 in the final 45 minutes as SVSU controlled the back half of both matches.
This is the second GLIAC Player of the Week award for SVSU men's soccer this season and the first for Forsyth's career.
The Cardinals are 3-1-4 (1-1-2 GLIAC) and welcome Roosevelt and St. Cloud State this weekend on Friday, October 2 and Sunday, October 4. Kickoffs are scheduled for 3 PM and 11 AM.
