Cardinal Golf Earns Three Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Selections

NORMAN, Okla. – Saginaw Valley State University men's golfers Tony Spicuzza, Ben Yono, and Evan Klein have been named 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for nomination, NCAA Division II student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2, and be in good standing at their institution. On the course, recipients must compete in at least 50% of their team's competitive rounds and maintain a stroke average under 78.0.

Evan Klein met the criteria after recording a 74.6 adjusted scoring average over 32 rounds, finishing the season ranked No. 59 regionally and No. 449 nationally with a 466-248-19 head-to-head record. Tony Spicuzza competed in 33 rounds, posting a 75.4 adjusted scoring average to earn a No. 96 regional and No. 654 national ranking with a 404-298-31 record. Ben Yono rounded out the Cardinal selections, recording a 77.7 adjusted scoring average over 17 competitive rounds and finishing No. 194 in the region.

In total, 209 NCAA Division II athletes from 77 schools earned Cobalt All-America Scholar honors this season.
