BAY CITY -- A pair of SVSU men's golf student-athletes have earned All-GLIAC recognition for the 2016-17 season. Junior Ryan Peruski has been named to the All-GLIAC First Team while fellow junior Mason Motte has earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors.

Peruski follows last season's honorable mention all-conference performance with a fantastic 2016-17 campaign. He played 19 rounds, posting a 74.32 stroke average. He notched four top-10 finishes, including his first career collegiate victory at the Purgatory Regional on April 9. Peruski finished under par for three tournaments, with the lowest coming at the Purgatory Regional (-5). Peruski had a career low round of 66 (-6) on on October 2 at the Kyle Ryman Memorial. He has five under par rounds so far this season. 

Motte posted 21 rounds in 2016-17, posting an average of 75.14. He had four top-10 finishes as well, including a tie for first at the Wayne State Invitational, where he fell in a playoff. He finished under par for two tournaments, with his career-best coming at -2 for the Purgatory Regional. Motte has posted three under par rounds this season, with the career low of two-under twice. Those came at the Purgatory Regional (Apr. 9) and the Wayne State Invitational (Oct. 17). 

The SVSU Men's Golf team tied the program 36-hole scoring record twice, with one coming at the Kyle Ryman Memorial and the other in the team's victory at the GLIAC Spring Invitational. The Cardinals had eight top-five finishes and finished outside of the top-10 just once in 10 total events. SVSU is set to participate in the 2017 NCAA Division II Super Regionals, which are set to take place May 8-10 at the Awarii Dunes Golf Course in Axtell, Nebraska.
