2015 SVSU Men's Soccer Preview

The SVSU men's soccer program enters a new era as head coach Andy Wagstaff begins his first season at the helm for the NSCAA preseason #18 squad after the departure of Cale Wassermann. The Cards posted an overall record of 14-5-2 in the 2014 season.

The 2014 season was one in which SVSU qualified for the NCAA Division II Round of 16 for the second time in three years. Saginaw Valley began its 2014 season with a school record unbeaten streak of 12 matches to start the season (10-0-2). Returning for SV is a solid group of returners, headlined by 2013 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year and 2014 Second Team All-GLIAC honoree in senior Tyler Channell. Aleksandar Isaevski returns for his sophomore season after being named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention and junior Jordan Kalk, the 2013 GLIAC Freshman of the Year, returns to help lead the offense. Returning in goal is sophomore Alexandre Bouillennec, who went 14-5-2 last year and was second in the league with 82 saves.

Saginaw Valley opens play for the 2015 season on the road, visiting Lewis on September 4th before playing at Wisconsin-Parkside on September 6th. The Cards begin GLIAC competition on September 11th at Northwood University in a 4:00 p.m. match.
