UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team has announced its 2012 recruiting class, which is compiled of six players who will be the foundation of Cardinal men's soccer for years to come.

2012 SVSU men's Soccer Recruiting Class
Vaughn Randall Frederick – Midfield/Defense – Garden City, Mich./Garden City HS
"Vaughn is arguably the fastest player coming out of the state of Michigan this year, he is a high school track athlete, as well as playing in one of the top USSF Development Academy systems in the country, the CSA Wolves. Vaughn brings an element of speed and comfort on the ball that will help him fight for time at the outside back and outside midfield position." - SVSU men's Soccer Head Coach Cale Wassermann
Frederick prepped at Garden City High School where he earned four varsity letters in soccer, three in track and one in football. He was team captain each of his last three seasons. He received all-conference honors his freshman year, before earning all-district, first team all-area, first team all-conference and Honorable Mention All-State during his sophomore campaign. He garnered all-district, first team all-area, first team all-conference recognition his junior season. Frederick holds school records for assists in a season, points in a season, points in a game, assists in a career, and career points scored.
Dylan Knott – Forward/Midfield – Oakland, Mich./Rochester Adams HS
"Dylan also plays with the CSA Wolves and is one of the best attacking players in the state. His mix of speed and vision will make him extremely dangerous for us and he has a maturity level in speaking with him about his development that I know will make him one the top attackers in the conference eventually." - SVSU men's Soccer Head Coach Cale Wassermann
Knott prepped at Rochester Adams High School in Oakland, Michigan where he was a four year varsity letter winner that qualified for the MHSAA Final Four his freshman season. He was named Second Team All-State and helped lead his team to a district championship his sophomore year. Garnered First team All-State accolades in his junior season and was named First Team All-State and team captain his senior year.
Tyler Winningham – Defense – Canton, Mich./ Canton High School
"Tyler has been on our radar for a few years now and has a left foot that doesn't come around very often. He is athletic and can spray the ball anywhere on the field and will help solidify our left side for four years." - SVSU men's Soccer Head Coach Cale Wassermann
Winningham prepped at Canton High School where he earned varsity letters in soccer and track. He was a member of the regional qualifying team his freshman season. During his sophomore season he was named all-area, all-conference, and all-district and helped lead his team to a conference championship as well as a MHSAA Final Four appearance. Winningham earned all-area, all-conference, all-district, all-region, and Honorable Mention All-State accolades as he helped lead his team to another conference title his junior and senior seasons. In 2011 he helped lead his team to the Division One State Championship. He was a Canton High School Academic Honors Letter Winner and a scholar athlete all four years at Canton High School, also received the 2011-12 Canton High School Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Mitch Posuniak – Midfield – Canton HS/Canton Mich.

Posuniak prepped at Canton High School and was named all-district, all-region, and Honorable Mention All-State all four season at Canton. He helped lead his team to the 2011 State Championships during his senior year and was named team captain his junior and senior season…earned All-Observerland honors in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Posuniak was also a scholar athlete all four years of high school.
Jesse Jones – Defense – Lamphere High School/Madison Heights Mich.

Jones prepped at Lamphere High School where he earned four varsity letters in soccer. He was a four-year starter and earned team MVP, team captain, all-conference and all-league honors in his varsity soccer career.
Michael Lamb - Defense - Sandhill View School, Sunderland, England - Oregon State University
"Michael brings the experience and pedigree that we need in our program. He grew up playing in a top youth academy in England and started 16 games at the NCAA Division 1 level last fall. With his experience and the guys we have on our team already, we hope to be one of the top defensive teams in the country." - SVSU men's Soccer Head Coach Cale Wassermann
Lamb played in and started 16 matches in the 2011 season for the Beavers notching an assist from his defender position. He played for Sunderland A.F.C. Academy from 2004-10, serving as team captain for four consecutive years (2004-07) Lamb attended Sandhill View School in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England, where he was both a starter and captain for the team from 2004-09.
