UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University junior Aalana Kimble was named the GLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon when the league office announced the awards.
Kimble recorded her first career no-hitter in the circle for SVSU after leading the team to a 2-0 win in game two against Palm Beach Atlantic. The win completed a sweep of the Sailfish and improved Kimble's record to 4-0 this season. She was one walk, hit by pitch, and error away from a perfect game and struck out seven batters for the second time this season. The shutout victory is her second of the season. She currently ranks second in the GLIAC in ERA with 1.00 and opposing batting average with .158. She is 14th in NCAA Division II in WHIP with a GLIAC-leading mark of .76.
It is the second GLIAC athlete of the week award for the 2025 All-America honoree, who was crowned the conference pitcher of the week last season.
The Cardinals are in Florida for the annual Spring Break games this week. They play Rollins this afternoon before heading over to play in the Space Coast games the remainder of the week.
