LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University volleyball team has been honored with the prestigious American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

The national award is presented to collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale).

The Cardinals cleared that benchmark, posting a 3.55 cumulative team GPA over the course of the 2025-26 academic year. SVSU joins an elite group of 1,432 programs recognized nationally across all levels of collegiate and high school competition.
