UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- SVSU Athletics invites the community, faculty, staff, and students to Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium when the Cardinal football team opens the season on Thursday, August 31 at home against Winona State at 6:00 p.m.
The game against the Warriors who qualified for the 2022 NCAA DII playoffs last season is a RED OUT, so Cardinal fans are encouraged to show their Red Pride by wearing RED.
The game is the Annual Red Feather Classic, and the Fordney Club is sponsoring a free concert featuring Nameless, a local band that is made up of several alumni from Saginaw Valley State University. The concert is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. and is in the area behind the baseball and softball fields in Lot C.
In addition, SVSU Athletics is handing out $5.00 vouchers to the first 500 SVSU students, faculty, and staff with ID who enter Lot C on foot or in a car that is redeemable at the food trucks on site.
All Saginaw Valley State students, faculty, and staff can receive their complimentary All-Sport Pass that earns them admission into all Cardinal home events for the 2023-24 year by going to the ticketing site and signing up.
All other Cardinal fans can purchase season ticket packages for $75.00 online via the ticketing website. Cardinal Booster Club Members will receive a discounted rate on season tickets. The CBC is open to all those interested in joining by clicking here.
SVSU Athletics is transitioning to a clear bag policy at Football for fan entrance into Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium. This added safety measure will also likely allow for easier gate entry due to less time spent doing patron bag checks.
Guests may bring: 1 clear tote bag that is 12" x 12" x 6" -or- 1-gallon clear plastic bag, AND 1 handbag that is up to 4.5" x 6.5" with or without straps.
Exceptions:
- Medical bags or necessary medical equipment
- Diaper bags or strollers (if with a small child)
Items on the exception list are still subject to search by security staff. SVSU reserves the right to inspect any item at any time. SVSU is not responsible for any items left at the gate or in the stadium.
