UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Louis O'Neal High School Classic is just around the corner! The James E. O'Neill Arena will be home to some of the best high school boy's basketball talent in the Great Lakes Bay Region, with games going on all day on December 10th starting at 12:30 pm, with Bay City Western taking on Midland High. A total of seven varsity boy's basketball games will make for an action-packed day with notable attendees such as Williamston - the reigning Division 2 MHSAA State Champions, Freeland- Division 2 Semifinal appearance, Genesee Christian- Division 4 Semifinal appearance, and Notre Dame Prep- Division 2 Elite 8 appearance. The historic programs of Saginaw High and Arthur Hill are on the schedule, along with Carman Ainsworth, Bridgeport, Midland Dow, Nouvel, Chesaning, and Swan Valley. Below is the full schedule:
12:30 - Bay City Western v Midland High
1:50 - Chesaning v Swan Valley
3:10 - Nouvel v Genesee Christian
4:30 - Williamston v Carman Ainsworth
5:50 - Saginaw v Notre Dame Prep
7:10 - Bridgeport v Midland Dow
8:30 - Arthur Hill v Freeland
Tickets will be sold at the SVSU ticket booth, through the doors at the top of the ramp in the E parking lot. Adult tickets are $10, and K-12 are $5, with under 5 being free. One ticket will get you access to the entire Classic!
The Cardinal Men's Basketball team opens GLIAC play this Saturday, December 3rd, at 3 pm at home vs. Wayne State. A trip down to the University of Findlay on Tuesday proceeds next weekend's GLIAC matchups that sandwich the Louis O'Neal High School Classic. The Cardinals take on Wisconsin Parkside on Friday, December 9th, and Purdue Northwest on Sunday, December 11th.
