UNIVERSITY CENTER -- The Saginaw Valley State University Track & Field and Cross Country programs are set to release their All-Decade Team when the new year hits. We will be releasing the top performances for each year every day until January 1 when the All-Decade Team is announced. 

We are getting started with the 2010 season and the top performer of that season for the Cardinals was Tony Filipek. Tony is a native of Caro, Michigan and was a two-time All-American performer for the Cardinals. 

Top Performance of 2010 - Tony Filipek

Tony Filipek captured a pair of All-American honors during the 2010 track season. He achieved those honors in the 800 meter run, taking fourth place at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships and then third at the outdoor championships. His times of 1:50.47 for the indoor race and 1:49.38 for the outdoor race are SVSU records that still stand today.
