Ryan Peruski Named 2017 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. - Saginaw Valley State University junior men's golf student-athlete Ryan Peruski has been named to the 2017 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar for the 2016-17 season. 

Peruski, who carries a 3.467 cumulative GPA as a mechanical engineering major, had a sensational season for the Cardinals on the course this past year. He notched a 74.29 scoring average, playing 24 rounds in the team's 11 events. He claimed four top-10 finishes, three top-five showings and was the champion at the fourth NCAA Division II Midwest Regional event, the Purgatory Regional. 

Ryan carded the two lowest rounds this year for SVSU, posting a five-under showing for his victory in the Purgatory event. He topped that round with a six-under par round in the second round of the Kyle Ryman Memorial in Tiffin, Ohio. 

Peruski's scoring average was the lowest for Saginaw Valley in 2016-17, leading the Cardinals to eight top-five finishes in 11 events, including claiming the title at the 2017 GLIAC Spring Invitational in Kentucky. 

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
