Cardinals set to compete at 2017 Division II Outdoor Championships

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Saginaw Valley Track & Field program will have six student-athletes compete in the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships. This year's event will be held May 25-27 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The Cardinals will send five members of the men's team and one member from the women's side to Florida to compete.

Listed below are the scheduled events that the Cardinal athletes will be competing in. In the Men's 100 Meters and Women's 1,500 Meters, Walker and Stepanski will have to qualify in the prelims to advance to Saturday's finals of the respective events.

Thursday, May 25

10:35 a.m. - Decathlon (100 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meters) - Sam Black

5:55 p.m. - Women's 1,500 Meters (Prelims) - Taylor Stepanski

7:10 p.m. - Men's 100 Meters (Prelims) - Jullane Walker

9:35 p.m. - Men's 10,000 Meters (Finals) - Joey Southgate

Friday, May 26

9:30 a.m. - Decathlon (110 meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin throw, 1,500 meters) - Sam Black

Saturday, May 27

5:05 p.m. - Men's Shot Put (Finals) - Ryan Kelly

5:35 p.m. - Women's 1,500 Meters (Finals) - Taylor Stepanski

6:45 p.m. - Men's 100 Meters (Finals) - Jullane Walker

8:30 p.m. - Men's 5,000 Meters (Finals) - Tom Goforth
