UNIVERSITY CENTER - Saginaw Valley State University men's basketball head coach Randy Baruth has announced another pair of additions to the program for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Andrew Cassin and Michael Cassin, a pair of 6-8 power forwards from Melbourne, Australia, will join the reigning GLIAC and Midwest Regional Champions for this upcoming season. 

Andrew nearly averaged a double-double this past season for the Nunawading Spectres, going for 10.7 points per game and grabbing 9.5 rebounds per contest. He led the team with a 46.3 field goal percentage and posted 2.4 blocks per game. 

Michael posted similar numbers for the Spectres, notching 12.4 points per contest and pulling down 8.6 rebounds per game. He hit on 44.9 percent of his attempts and dished-out 2.3 assists per game while swatting 1.5 shots on average.

"We are excited to have Michael and Andrew Cassin to the program," said Baruth. "Michael and Andrew both have a good skill-set for their size and position. We are looking forward to the team attitude that they have and can bring to help us improve our program."

The guys will join fellow Aussie Sebastiano Lamonato, Austin LeVan, Richie Roberts and Rashaan Pope as part of the 2016-17 recruiting class.
