UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's track & field team hosted Northwood and Wayne State today in the Fieldhouse on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University. The women earned 54 points to post victories over both Wayne State at 48 points and Northwood with 23 points. The men were competing only with Northwood and came out on top with 69.5 points over the Timberwolves' 59.5.

Dominique Adams finished first in the mile run, coming in at a time of 5:16.88. Ryan Silvestri came in first in the men's mile, posting a time of 4:27.45.

D'Omar Boyden posted a win in the 60 meter hurdles, recording a time of 8.40.

In the 400 meter dash, Ce'Aira Richardson finished first with at time of 57.18, followed by Kimberly Balls in second at 58.26.

In the men's 400 meter, Shawn Stewart posted a second place finish with a time of 50.34.

Marvin White notched in a first place finish with a time of 7.20 in the 60 meter dash.

Darby Meinecke posted a first place finish in the women's 800 meter at a time of 2:28.18.Ryan Silvestri also posted a first place finish in the 800 with a time of 1:59.86.

In the 3,000 meter run, Sophia Bradley finished first with a time of 10:57.29.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Taylor Stepanski, DeAnna Stickler-Gatson, Lina Davis and Brittany Johnson recorded a first place finish with a time of 3:56.60.

Emerald Joiner provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships for the fourth time this season in the women's weight throw with a throw of 16.92 meters. Joiner also provisionally qualified in the shot put and finished in second with a distance of 13.55 meters.

In the men's weight throw, Ben Morrow finished second with a throw of 14.99 meters.

Ryan Kelley finished first in the shot put with a distance of 14.85 meters.

Sidney Bischer provisionally qualified for the NCAA championships in the high jump, crossing the bar at a height of 1.68 meters.

Sam Black finished in first in the men's high jump, recording a height of 1.98 meters. Noah VanderVeen came in second with a final height of 1.88 meters and Brady Watson finished third at 1.83 meters.

Anna Fochesato provisionally qualified in the triple jump with a distance of 11.68 meters.

Robert Tarpley landed at first place in the triple jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships, recording a distance of 14.81 meters.

In the pole vault, Andrew Mudd finished first at a final height of 4.26 meters.

The Cardinals will travel to the Marshall Invitational and the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, February 12th.
