Saginaw Valley State University's men's basketball team travels to Bellarmine University to participate in the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge. Last weekend the Cardinals fell to Dayton in an exhibition match. In the 2014 season's GLIAC/GLVC Challenge, SV defeated St. Joseph's, 87-81 and fell to Bellarmine, 81-71.
The team was given the top slot in the GLIAC North Division in preseason voting by the league's head coaches. Last season, SVSU posted 21-9 overall and 16-6 in the GLIAC. The 16 league victories were a new program record for the team. Randy Baruth is returning for his fourth season as head coach for the Cardinals.
