BAY CITY - Saginaw Valley State University freshman men's soccer student-athlete Alexandre Bouillennec has been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive "Player of the Week" for his performance the past two matches.

The goalkeeper stopped all three shots on goal in the team's 0-0 tie with Northwood on Thursday (9/12) before recording five saves in the Cardinals' 1-0 shutout victory at Marygrove on Sunday (9/14).

The two shutouts gives Bouillennec four to begin his career, as the fourth-ranked Cardinals remain unbeaten at 3-0-1 on the season.  He has 15 saves in 2014.

Saginaw Valley returns to action this weekend with road matches against Walsh on Friday (9/19) at 7:00 pm and Malone on Sunday (9/21) at 1:00 pm.
