BAY CITY - Four Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer student-athletes garnered All-GLIAC honors for their play during the 2014 season.
Senior midfielders Zach Vasold and Craig Neal were both named to the All-GLIAC First Team while Tyler Channell earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors and redshirt freshman defenseman Aleksandar Isaevski was named to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team.
Neal registered a team-high seven goals and a GLIAC-leading seven assists, leading the team with 21 total points. The 21 points ranked him third in the league for the 2014 season. Four of his seven goals were of the game-winning variety.
Vasold earns first-team honors after being named to the second-team in 2013. He had a goal and two assists, being a big defensive part of the Cardinals allowing just 1.01 goals-per-game.
Channell had five goals and five assists in 2014, posting 15 points despite missing five matches due to injury. He earns second-team honors after being named the Offensive Player of the Year last season.
Isaevski had a great freshman campaign for the Cardinals as well, scoring four goals and adding five assists for 13 points as a defensive player.
The Cardinals square-off with Tiffin at 1:00 pm today in the 2014 GLIAC Semifinals.
