ESSEXVILLE - Several members of the Saginaw Valley State University baseball team paid a visit to Hampton Elementary in Essexville on Friday, September 26th.

Team members had the opportunity to help physical education teacher Jenny Maciejewski during several gym classes.  The student-athletes were able to interact with the students and teach the importance of an active lifestyle.

Mrs. Maciejewski was extremely thankful for the opportunity and welcomed back members of the SVSU baseball team anytime.

Head baseball coach Chris Ebright and his players were glad they could get out and give back to the community.

"Our players really enjoy any opportunity they get to give back to the community," said Ebright, who is in his first season as the head coach of the program.  "Being able to interact with young children and promote a healthy, active lifestyle is something we believe is very important.  These are memories that last a lifetime for the children as well as the players on our team.  It really shows the character of our players for them to take the time to visit with these children."
