UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University baseball team will battle Lake Erie College at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (May 9) in Game No. 4 of the 2013 GLIAC Baseball Tournament held at Oestrike Field on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.
The winner will advance in the tournament, while the loser goes home.
The Cardinals entered the conference postseason with a 14-14 record as the No. 5 seed, while the Storm claimed the sixth spot after a 14-18 GLIAC mark.
Saginaw Valley picked up a sweep on the road at Lake Erie back in early April when the Cardinals outscored the Storm by a 34-17 margin. SVSU hit a school record seven home runs in the final 16-6 victory.
Saginaw Valley ended the conference regular season leading the GLIAC in home runs with 19 taters, while also recording a .300 batting average (3rd best) in conference play.
