BAY CITY, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2011-12 All-GLIAC teams tonight (Mar. 2), with Grace Herzog being the lone member of the Saginaw Valley State University women's basketball team to receive recognition on the All-GLIAC Defensive Team.

Herzog, a junior, ranked first in the GLIAC and second in NCAA Division II with 3.4 blocked shots per game this season.  She set Saginaw Valley records for blocked shots in a game (10) and season (87) during the 2011-12 campaign.  She also led the Cardinals with 6.9 rebounds per game, pulling down 10 or more boards in six games. Herzog also recorded four or more blocks in 11 contests this season.

The Cardinals finished the season with a record of 6-20 overall and 5-14 in the GLIAC under the guidance of Jamie Pewinski in her first season at SVSU.
