FINDLAY, OH. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team defeated the Oilers 2-0 this afternoon (Oct. 26).

The sweep against the Oilers got its start when Zach Walega (Saline, Mich. / Saline HS) assisted Zach Myers (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hill Eastern HS) for a Cardinal goal at the 10:00 minute mark.

The Cardinals held on to their 1-0 led leading into halftime.

The second score of the game came when Robert Short (Goodrich, Mich. / Goodrich HS) found Myers for his second goal of the game, putting the Cardinals up 2-0. The Cardinal went on to hold the Oilers scoreless for the win 2-0.

Goalkeeper Jason Wise (Troy, Mich. / Troy HS) ended this game with five saves, earning his tenth win of the season.

The Cardinals will return back to action Oct. 28 for the regular season closer against Urbana University at 1:00 PM.
