UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University baseball team announced the signing of seven new players to National Letters of Intent.  These players will join the Cardinal Baseball team for the 2012-13 season.

Ryan Bazner – Canton High School/Canton, Mich. – Pitcher

Prior to SVSU/Personal: Prepped at Canton High School…participated in hockey and baseball…helped team to three district titles…captained the baseball team is junior season…named most valuable player his junior year…named all-area, all-conference and all-district junior year…majoring in sports medicine…son of Bob and Sandy Bazner…born 3/19/94.

Shane Cochran – Eisenhower HS/Shelby Township, Mich. – Pitcher/Outfield

Prior to SVSU/Personal:  Prepped at Eisenhower High School…earned three varsity letters in baseball and three varsity letters in football…member of district championship football team his sophomore season...made the all-academic team in football and baseball his sophomore and junior years...member of district championship baseball team his junior season…earned second team all-conference in baseball his junior year…major is currently undecided…son of Janine and Mark Cochran…born 3/19/94.

Dylin Eschenburg – Eisenhower HS/Shelby Township, Mich. - Shortstop/Third Base

Prior to SVSU/Personal:  Prepped at Eisenhower High School…earned varsity letters in baseball and tennis…member of district championship baseball team his junior year…named a part of the MAC all-academic baseball team his junior season…won the Eisenhower Sparkplug Player Award his junior year…was varsity tennis team captain…member of division one all-county team…named honorable mention all-conference in tennis…won the Eisenhower Eagle Leadership award in tennis…majoring in health science…son of Francine and Daniel Eschenburg…born 8/16/94.

Andrew Geese – Carrollton HS/Saginaw Mich. – Pitcher

Prior to SVSU/Personal: Transfer from Delta College...prepped at Carrollton High School…named second team all-conference once and first team all-conference twice…named all-region and second team All-State his senior campaign…led his team to a TVC West Championship…majoring in Criminal Justice…son of Gary and Cheryl Geese…born 03/05/91.

Richard Guglielmi – Plymouth HS/Canton, Mich. – Catcher

Prior to SVSU/Personal:  Prepped at Plymouth High School…earned varsity letters in baseball, football, and hockey…named honorable mention all-observer in baseball his sophomore and junior seasons…received the Kensington Lakes Activities Association Scholar Athlete Award in 2010 and 2011…member of Honor Roll his freshman, sophomore, and junior years…major is currently undecided…son of Jennifer and Frank Guglielmi…born 12/7/93.

Keith Neibauer – Grass Lake HS/Grass Lake Mich. – Catcher/Utility

Prior to SVSU/Personal: Prepped at Grass Lake High School…participated in both basketball and baseball…named first team all-conference and first team all-district…named most dedicated player…played four years of varsity basketball being named first team all-conference, first team all-area and third team All-JTV…a member of honor roll and an Ignition Mentor…majoring in Exercise Science…son of Keith and Carrie Neibauer…born 10/9/94.

Lucas Ross – Warren Mott HS/Sterling Heights, Mich. – Pitcher

Prior to SVSU/Personal:  Prepped at Warren Mott High School…awarded first team all-county, all-district and all-region in baseball...named all-county first time in football as a quarterback…set the single single strikeout record…majoring in education…son of Randy and Dominique Ross…born 5/20/94.
