SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State
University men's golf team currently sits in a tie for second place
after first round action at the NCAA Division II Regional #1
Tournament, being held at the HawksHead Colf Course in South Haven,
Mich. The Cardinals shot a 284 team total to tie with Grand
Valley State in the second slot, three strokes behind tournament
leader University of Indianapolis.
Senior Mike
Horn (Clarkston, Mich.) and sophomore Addison Monfils
(Big Rapids, Mich.) both shot two-under rounds of 70 to lead the
Cardinals, both being four off the pace of leader Travis Shooks
(66) of Grand Valley State University. Senior Nate Kelly (Suttons
Bay, Mich.) also shot under par for the day, recording a one-under
71 to tie for seventh place in the event. Sophomore Dan
Warner (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill HS) carded a 73 on the
day and sits in a tie for 21st overall to round-out the scoring for
the Cardinals.
