KANSAS CITY, MO. (March 17, 2010) -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the NABC Division II All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 88 student-athletes, from eight districts, are now eligible for the State Farm® Coaches' Division II All-America teams, selected by the NABC.

SVSU senior guard Avery Stephenson was the lone Cardinal selected to the NABC Midwest All-District Team, being selected to the second team.  Stephenson was also selected to the All-GLIAC First Team after being named to the 2009-10 Pre-Season All-GLIAC Team and the Second Team in the 2008-09 season.  Hed led SVSU this season in scoring with 16.4 ppg and was second on the squad in rebounding, grabbing 5.8 boards per contest.  Stephenson was second on the team in blocks (16) and third in steals (28) while playing in a team-high 34.0 minutes per game.
