FINDLAY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State
University men's basketball team traveled to Findlay, Ohio to take
on the Oilers this afternoon (Jan. 30). The Cardinals fell to
#23 ranked Findlay by a score of 82-51. The loss brought SVSU's
overall record to 12-7 and 9-5 in the GLIAC. Findlay moves to
16-3 overall on the season and 12-2 in the GLIAC.
The Cardinals' offense began to struggle within five minutes of
tip-off as Findlay took the lead with 16:14 remaining in first
half. The Oilers maintained the advantage throughout the game
as they went on to victory, 82-51.
Saginaw Valley was lead overall by sophomore guard Sean Romsek
(Fowlerville, Mich.) and junior forward Keithan Jackson
(Grand Rapids, Mich. / Godwin Heights HS) who posted eight points
each. Jackson also led the Cardinals in rebounds with
nine. Senior guard Avery Stephenson
(Romulus, Mich.) netted seven points and had two steals and two
rebounds.
SVSU will return to action when they host Wayne State on
Thursday (Feb. 4) at 8:00 pm.
