UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw
Valley State women's basketball team couldn't fly
higher than the Ashland Eagles tonight (Feb. 12) as the Cardinals
lost 101-61.
SVSU was led by senior point guard Tricia Everett (Saginaw, Mich.)
who put dropped in 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting, nabbed four
steals and dished four assists. Junior forward Kelsey Mausolf (Port
Hope, Mich) sank 11 points, and freshman guard Marah Kyle drained
10 points to round out the Cardinal leading scorers.
On the night, Saginaw Valley shot 36.9 percent from the floor and
went 75 percent from the charity stripe.
The loss drops the Cardinals' record to 2-20 overall, and
1-6 in the GLIAC, while Ashland improves to 14-8 overall and 10-7
in the GLIAC. SVSU will return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday as the
Cardinals prepare to take on Tiffin University in the second game
of their two-game home stretch.
