CHICAGO, Ill. - The Saginaw Valley State University volleyball team remained undefeated on the season moving their record to 6-0 with two wins at the Flyer Invitational in Chicago, Ill. SVSU defeated Western New Mexico in its first match of the day in five games by scores of 25-22, 18-25,25-20,25-27 and 15-9. The Cardinals would then go on to defeat Wisconsin-Parkside in five games later in the day by scores of 19-25, 25-12, 25-18, 21-25 and 15-12.

SVSU freshman middle hitter Katie Fitzgerald (Whitby, Ont./Sinclair SS) had another set of good matches for the Cardials, Fitzgerald hit .406 with 16 kills and four blocks in game one and followed that up with 12 kills and four blocks in game two. Sarah Redoute (Clinton Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse) chipped in with 15 kills, two aces, and two kills in game one. Jaclyn Carnago (St. Clair, Mich.) added 12 kills and three blocks in game one. Sophomore Jessica Treiber (Unionville, Mich./Unionville-Sebewaing) lead the Cardinals in game two with 13 kills and 2 blocks, while Annie Buxton (Aurora, Ont./Aurora SS)added nine kills, one ace and a kill respectfully.

The Cardinals move to 6-0 on the season and will play two more matches at the Lewis University Flyer Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 6).
