QUINCY, Ill. - The Saginaw Valley State
University mens soccer team fell in their season opener by a score
of 4-0 to Quincy University.
The Cardinals were unable to get into an offensive rhythm on
Saturday (Aug. 30) after falling behind by two goals within the
first two minutes of the half. SVSU would allow another goal right
before the half was expiring, and would not be able to get on the
board during the second half. Junior forward Vinny Vasilevski
(Shelby, Twp., Mich./Utica Eisenhower) lead the Cardinals offensive
attack with three shots, and one of SVSU's two shots on
goal.
SVSU falls to 0-1 on the season and returns to action at 5 pm
against the University of Missouri St. Louis on Sunday (Aug. 31).
