Cardinals Fall to Lake Superior State

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State women's basketball team dropped an 83-37 decision today (Jan. 3) to Lake Superior State.

Sophomore guard Kelley Wesp (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds to lead the Cardinals. Senior guard Stephanie Sills (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley HS) added eight points on the afternoon.

The loss drops SVSU's record to 1-10 overall and 0-6 in the GLIAC, while LSSU improves to 9-5 and 2-4 in the GLIAC. Saginaw Valley State will return to action at 6 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 8) as the Cardinals host Grand Valley State University for their first home game of the new year.
