Lachlan Savage joins the SVSU Women's Soccer coachingstaff for the 2014 season, beginning his coaching career after afour year stint as a standout on the SVSU men's soccerteam.

Savage competed in 83 matches for the Saginaw Valley StateUniversity men's soccer program, starting every single match fromhis freshmen year to his senior year.  Savage racked-up 25career goals as a midfielder for the Cardinals, adding 11 assistsfor a total of 61 points. In his college career, Savage won twoGLIAC regular season championships, one GLIAC conference tournamentchampionship and participated in two NCAAtournaments.   

Savage was named an All-GLIAC First Team midfielder in 2012and 2013 and garnered second team for his play during the 2011season.  He was named a Second Team Daktronics, Inc.All-Midwest Region midfielder in 2012 and NSCAA All-Region FirstTeam in 2012. Savage also was named First Team Daktronics, Inc.All-Midwest Region midfielder in 2013 and NSCAA All-Region FirstTeam in 2013 as well.

An instrumental part of the Cardinals' 2012 run to the NCAADivision II National Championship game, highlighted by hisselection into the 2012 NCAA Tournament Team, Savage booted thegame-winning goal in the Cardinals' Round of 16 victory overRockhurst to propel the team into the national quarterfinals.Savage then scored the game winning goal in the National Semifinalagainst Simon Fraser, as well as, scoring in the national finalwhere the team fell short in a 3-2 defeat to LynnUniversity.

Outside of Saginaw Valley, Savage has been involved with theCanton Celtic Soccer Club, Olympic Development Program (ODP),Detroit City FC and most recently WAZA FC.
