Jordan Schwellenbach was named the Pitching Coach of the SVSU baseball program by Head Coach Chris Ebright prior to the 2015 season.  Schwellenbach graduated from Northwood University in 2014 with a BBA in Advertising/Marketing. He enters his third season coaching.

In the 2016 season, the team had an ERA of 4.98, 146 walks and 261 strikeouts. The team averaged 6.16 strikeouts per game. Two of SVSU's pitchers, Michael Ellenbest and Scott Sency, earned All-GLIAC honors.

In Schwellenbach's first year, the pitching staff went from a team ERA of 5.90 down to 3.64. The cardinal pitching staff also went from 182 walks in 2014 to 112 walks in 2015. Sophomore Scott Sency and Redshirt Freshman Mike Ellenbest were 2nd Team All-GLIAC selections, with Ellenbest receiving GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year honors. Senior reliever Jeff Schalk was named All-GLIAC Honorable mention under his tutelage. 

Schwellenbach was a pitcher for Northwood University from 2011-2014.  He appeared in 58 games, which is 4th all time for the Timberwolves. He compiled a 7-7 record with eight saves in his collegiate career, which is good for 3rd all time.  Prior to Northwood, Schwellenbach played for Bob Andrezejewski at Heritage High School in Saginaw, Michigan.  

Schwellenbach was the head coach of the Michigan Area Braves during the 2014 summer.  The Braves are a wood bat summer team located in the Great Lakes Bay Region of Michigan.  They are a member of the Great Lakes United Baseball League.  He was appointed the head coach of the team prior to the 2014 summer.  In his first and only season as the head coach, the team was a NABF World Series quarter-finalist and regional champions.
