Jamie Melchert enters her first season with the Cardinalcoaching staff working primarily with pitchers andcatchers.

She spent last season as the pitching coach at CalvinCollege. During this time Calvin recorded their first winningseason, 17-13, since 2005. Prior to Calvin she spent the 2012season as the assistant coach at Walled Lake NorthernHighschool.

Melchert's collegiate career began at Muskegon CommunityCollege where she earned All MCCAA, All NJCAA and All RegionTournament team honors. She was also named Muskegon CC's femaleathlete of the year in 2009. Melchert then transferred and pitchedher remaining two years at Eastern Michigan University. While atEMU she was named MAC pitcher of the week and helped Eastern earnits first MAC tournament appearance since 2007.
