NEW ORLEANS — Five Saginaw Valley State University men's cross country student-athletes were named All-Midwest Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon.
Jacob Walker earned his second all-region selection after earning the honor in 2024 as well. He is joined by Corey Bowers, Jack Lobodzinski, Nick McArdle, and Adam Thomas, who all earned the first all-region award of their collegiate careers.
The quintet all finished in the top-20 of the NCAA Midwest Regional last weekend, with Lobodzinski leading the way with a top-five finish in fourth. Bowers finished 9th, McArdle and Walker were 11th and 12th, and Thomas placed 16th.
The Cardinal men's team earned one of the three automatic bids to the NCAA Championship in the region with a second-place finish in last weekend's race in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The championship race takes place on Saturday, November 22, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The men's race is slated to start at 12:15 p.m. (ET).
