UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. — Saginaw Valley State University junior Jacob Walker (Jerome, Mich. / Columbia Central Senior HS) earned the GLIAC men's cross country athlete of the week honor Monday afternoon.

 

Walker led the 12th-ranked Saginaw Valley State men's cross country team at the Lucian Rose Invite in Kenosha, Wisconsin, this past weekend to earn the first GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor of his career. He finished in the top 20 among 220 total runners with a time of 24:57.82. Walker's finish propelled the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish out of 25 teams with a total score of 162.

 

This is Walker's first career GLIAC weekly honor and the Cardinals' first of the season.

 

SVSU will compete in the Lewis Crossover on Saturday, October 11.
