KENOSHA, WIS. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country team performed well at the Lucian Rose Invite, which Parkside hosted on Saturday morning. In the men's 8K, the team finished fourth out of 24 with 160 points. Meanwhile, the women placed 10th among 23 teams, scoring 312 points.
Jacob Walker led the men with a time of 24:57.8, placing 19th. Jack Lobodzinski followed at 25:10.5 for 21st, and Adam Thomas finished in the top 30 with 25:19.9. Nick McArdle and Corey Bowers ran 25:25.5 and 26:04.6, respectively. Bryce Husen (26:40.8) and Andrew Commeret (26:43.3) rounded out the team's scorers. Justin Roose, Isaac Zammit, and Kenny Lewis also competed, with Lewis setting a personal best of 27:30.7.
Jenna Sweeney improved her PR, set at the Warrior Challenge, with a team-best 22:34.31. Four other Cardinal women set PRs: Kinsie Jacques (22:50.45), Tara Szuper (22:50.57), Bailey Schmoldt (23:18.20), and Grace Harkenrider (23:33.53). Alexis Tracy (22:59.57) and Karissa Picard (23:01.93) were the team's fourth and fifth finishers. Sydney Fontaine and Isabelle Becker also raced for the Cardinals.
