CALEDONIA, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University tennis fell 4-3 in a tight battle on the road against Davenport. The Cardinals (6-9, 0-5 GLIAC) took wins at number one, two, and five singles to earn their three points, but couldn't get the final point needed to earn the win over the Panthers (15-6, 4-1 GLIAC).
Nicoletta Diamantopoulos (Ajax, Ontario, Canada / Notre Dame CSS) and Amelia Dickson (Cheam, United Kingdom / Cheam HS) won both of their matches on the afternoon. The duo was victorious at number one doubles, 6-3. Diamantopoulos won number one singles (3-6, 6-2, 7-5) and Dickson won number two singles (5-7, 6-4, 6-2) to earn two points toward the team total. Fatimah Butt (Miami, Fla.) earned the third point with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win at number five singles.
