MIDLAND, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team fell 5-2 against Ferris State at the Greater Midland Tennis Center on Thursday. The Cardinals (6-6, 0-2 GLIAC) battled the Bulldogs (7-5, 1-0 GLIAC), with four of the six singles matches going to a third set in the contest.
Ferris State took the doubles point with a sweep in the opening three matchups. Amelia Dickson put SVSU on the board with her 6-2, 6-3 win at number two singles. Anastasia Diamantopoulos fell behind 6-4 in the first set of number five singles, but took the next two sets 6-2 and 6-4 to claim the second point for the Cardinals in the losing effort.
