Tennis Loses Heartbreaker to Sacred Heart

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to NCAA Division I Sacred Heart on Monday night in Orlando, Florida.

The match came down to the number one singles, where Nicoletta Diamantopoulos fell 6-4 in the first set before taking set two 6-3 to force tiebreakers. Diamantopoulos battled, but fell 10-6 in the contest.

Lydia Liong Tng En won her match at number four singles to earn a point for the Cardinals. Anastasia Diamantopoulos won 6-1, 6-2 at number five singles, and Fatimah Butt earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at number six singles to knot the match at three points each going into the final matchup at number one singles.
