HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team began the 2025 Fall slate at the Charger Invitational hosted by Hillsdale this past weekend. The Cardinals had a few standout performers, with Nicoletta Diamantopoulos winning the singles Flight A bracket and Fatimah Butt winning the singles Flight D bracket.  Diamantopoulos and Butt remained unbeaten when they teamed up for the doubles Flight A bracket and went 3-0 in those matchups as well.

SVSU finished the two-day tournament with three top-three outcomes in singles and one in doubles. Diamantopoulos and Butt went 6-0 overall (3-0 singles, 3-0 doubles) for the weekend. Anastasia Diamantopoulos finished third in the Flight B singles after going 2-1 in that bracket. She also had a good showing in Flight A doubles with partner Lydia Liong, going 3-0 in their matches.

The team takes a week off before competing in the Northwood Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 19-20.
