CANTON, Ohio - The SVSU women's tennis team fell to Walsh University 7-2 Friday at the Hall of Fame tennis facility in Canton, Ohio.  

Freshman Izabella Ismailova (Almaty, Kazkhstan) and sophomore  Erin Doud (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) led the way for the Cardinals. They paired together at no. 1 doubles, losing a hard-fought match 9-7; each rallied to win their respective singles matches. Ismailova won at no. 1 singles, claiming the fist set 6-3 before her opponent retired due to illness. Doud bested her opponent 7-5, 6-2 at no. 3 singles.

Charlotte Wong competed well, but lost in three sets at no. 4 singles, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.

The Cardinals are back in action Saturday against Malone University. Match time is set for noon.
