Lacrosse Falls to Northern Michigan on Senior Day

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's lacrosse team fell 22-1 to Northern Michigan inside Braddock Field during Senior Day on Sunday morning. The Cardinals (1-12, 0-6 GLIAC) matched up against the Wildcats (11-4, 5-2 GLIAC) and NCAA Division II leading scorer Josie Lakosky, who scored 10 of NMU's 22 goals in the game.

Ally Schneider prevented the shutout with a free-position goal in the final three minutes of the third quarter, but that was all SVSU could do on the offensive end of the field.

Mikaila Stone (Murietta, Calif. / Murietta HS) (L, 1-11) made some great saves, finishing with 11 stops in the contest. Annelle Dykema (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Grand Rapids Christian HS) and Stone finished with four and five ground balls, respectively, to lead the Cardinals in that category. Mya Nemecek (Brighton, Mich. / Brighton HS) had a team-best two caused turnovers, and Schneider led with two draw controls, along with scoring the only SVSU goal.

UP NEXT: The Cardinals finish the regular season with two road games, the first of which happens on Friday, April 24, at Davenport beginning at 3:00 p.m. (ET).
