UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-5 decision to Concordia-St. Paul in the team's penultimate home game of the 2026 Spring season. The Cardinals (1-11, 0-5 GLIAC) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, but the Golden Bears (6-9, 3-4 GLIAC) rallied with five-straight goals to gain the lead and never surrender it.
Ally Schneider scored off an assist from Abby Lee (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lake Orion HS) in the opening 90 seconds of play to put SVSU up 1-0.
Lainey Lasky (Ortonville, Mich. / Brandon HS) added the second goal of the game just over a minute and a half later with an unassisted tally at the 12:06 mark of the first quarter to double the Saginaw Valley lead.
The first goal from CSP came with 11:44 on the clock. The game was tied at 8:01, and three others followed as the Golden Bears built a 5-2 advantage with just over five minutes left in the opening frame.
Schneider struck again at the 4:39 mark, scoring off an assist from Lasky to cut the deficit to two goals (5-3).
Concordia-St. Paul would add two more scores before the horn ended the first to hold a 7-3 lead going into the next quarter.
CSP held the Cardinals scoreless in the second, building the lead to 13-3 when the teams entered the locker room at the half.
The visitors would score two more times before Schneider completed a hat trick with her third goal of the game at the 6:49 mark of the third stanza. Lee assisted on that tally for her second dish of the afternoon.
Briar-Rose Mackey (Saline, Mich. / Saline HS) added her 14th goal of the season in the final two minutes of the quarter in a man-up situation that put the gap at 15-5.
The Golden Bears added four more goals in the fourth quarter to widen the margin to 14 (19-5), where it would stay until the final horn sounded.
Schneider finished with a team-high three goals and five shots, three on target. She tied Lainee Carmean (Muskegon, Mich. / Mona Shores HS) for a team-best two draw controls. Annelle Dykema (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Grand Rapids Christian HS) led with three ground balls, and Sophia Ried () finished with two caused turnovers. Lasky added two shots, both on goal, to her totals. She also pulled in a draw control. Mackey scored once on her three shots, all on goal, and had a draw control.
UP NEXT: The Cardinals host Northern Michigan on Sunday, April 19, at 10:00 a.m. (ET), for SVSU's final home contest. Sarah Graziano (Swartz Creek, Mich. / Swartz Creek HS), Aleena Edwards and Marlee Edwards (Herndon, Va.), and Breanna Mumyluk (Oxford, Mich.) will be honored during pregame for Senior Day.
