GROVE CITY, Ohio – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf program competed in the NC4K Classic, hosted by Ohio Dominican, on Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7. The Cardinals placed sixth out of 14 teams with rounds of 335 (+47) and 320 (+32) for a two-round total of 655 (+79).

Andie Martin led the Cardinals, jumping 12 spots in the final round to finish fifth out of 90 golfers. She shot rounds of 82 (+10) and 74 (+2) for a two-round total of 156 (+12). Martin recorded one birdie and 14 pars in her second round.

Marissa GeRue tied for 10th place after rounds of 81 (+9) and 78 (+6) to finish with a total of 159 (+15). Averie Pumford tied for 34th with rounds of 89 (+17) and 80 (+8) for a total of 169 (+25). Christina Nagy tied for 40th after shooting 83 (+11) and 86 (+14) to finish at 169 (+25). Alivia Ligrow carded rounds of 91 (+19) and 89 (+17) for a total of 180 (+36), while Aileen Cosentino finished with rounds of 94 (+22) and 93 (+21) for a total of 187 (+43).

Pumford recorded one of just two eagles in the tournament, achieving the mark in the opening round. As a team, the Cardinals tied for sixth in birdies with 12 and sixth in pars with 82.

Martin tied for the top performance on par threes, shooting even for the tournament. She also tied for fifth in birdies with four and tied for fifth in total pars with 20.

Up Next: Saginaw Valley women's golf heads to Lima, Ohio on Friday, April 10 for the TU/WU Spring Christmas Classic hosted by Tiffin and Walsh. The tournament takes place at Hidden Creek Golf Club.
