BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf team competed at the Bulldog Fall Classic hosted by Ferris State University on Saturday and Sunday at Katke Golf Course. The Cardinals finished ninth out of 13 teams with a two-round total of 641 (+65).
Christina Nagy (Macedonia, Ohio / Nordonia HS) led SVSU, tying for ninth place out of 83 golfers with a score of 152 (+8). She carded rounds of 74 (+2) and 78 (+6).
Mayson Southland (Mona Shores, Mich. / Mona Shores HS) followed with rounds of 79 (+7) and 80 (+8) for a total of 159 (+15). Andie Martin (New Boston, Mich. / Huron HS) was two strokes back at 161 (+17), shooting 80 (+8) on Saturday and 81 (+9) on Sunday.
Averie Pumford (Freeland, Mich. / Freeland HS) made her collegiate debut and rounded out the team scoring with a total of 169 (+25) after rounds of 84 (+12) and 85 (+13). Alivia Ligrow (totaling 177, +33) added rounds of 88 (+16) and 89 (+17).
Up Next: Saginaw Valley women's golf continues their fall slate at the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invitational hosted by Grand Valley State University. The tournament will be played at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich., beginning Monday, September 29.
