Christina Nagy Leads Cardinals to Eighth Place Finish at the Warrior Invite

WASHINGTON, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf program competed in the Warrior Invite hosted by Wayne State on Monday and Tuesday. The Cardinals placed eighth out of 13 teams, finishing with a three-round total of 964 (+100).

Christina Nagy (Macedonia, Ohio / Nordonia HS) led the way for SVSU, carding rounds of 76 (+4), 76 (+4), and 77 (+5) for a total of 226 (+13), tying her for 13th place out of 78 competitors.

Andie Martin (New Boston, Mich. / Huron HS) and Marissa GeRue (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carroll HS) each posted totals of 244 (+28). Martin recorded back-to-back rounds of 79 (+7) before closing with an 86 (+14), while GeRue tallied rounds of 77 (+5), 79 (+7), and 88 (+16).

Mayson Southland (Mona Shores, Mich. / Mona Shores HS) shot 253 (+37) with rounds of 82 (+10), 84 (+12), and 87 (+15). Aileen Cosentino (Washington, Mich. / Lutheran High North) finished at 259 (+43) after rounds of 88 (+16), 89 (+17), and 82 (+10).

Competing individually, Anna McClure (Jackson, Mich. / Jackson Lumen Christi HS) closed two strokes behind Cosentino with a 261 (+45), shooting 89 (+17), 88 (+16), and 84 (+12).

Up Next: The Cardinals return to action at the Laker/Bulldog Fall Invite on Sunday, Sept. 28 and Monday, Sept. 29. The first day will be played at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich., followed by the second day at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich.
