UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University senior thrower Andrew Quinn (Scottville, Mich. / Mason Country Central HS) was named the GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week when the league office announced the weekly awards on Monday.

Quinn earned the honor after a record setting weekend at the Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational in Ashland, Ohio. Quinn broke the SVSU indoor record in the shot put with a throw of 18.27m (7th-best in NCAA DII) to win the men's shot put Elite event. He collected a second win in the men's weight throw with a toss of 17.13m.

The Cardinal men's track and field team will be on the road this weekend competing at Grand Valley State, Boston University, and Tiffin.
