UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Cheyenne Williamson has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for Saginaw Valley State University, it was announced Wednesday.
Williamson had another strong showing at the Elaine Leigh Invite hosted by Oakland University on Saturday. The Essexville, Mich., native won four events, hitting the NCAA DII Provisional mark in all four.
Williamson won the 11-meter hurdles in 14.14 seconds and took the high jump with a best height of 1.70m. She was also a member of both the 4X100 and 4X400 relay teams that took first place for the Cardinals.
The award is the second for Williamson during the outdoor season, as she too the Field Athlete of the Week honor on April 13.
SVSU returns to action with a pair of meets this weekend, including the Grand Valley State University Meet Friday and Saturday in Allendale, Mich., as well as the Grizzly Mini Meet Friday in Rochester, Mich.
