BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University men's swimming & diving student-athlete Max Buxton has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Male Athlete of the Week after his performance this past Saturday (Jan. 23) at Malone.

Buxton, a diver, won both the 1 and 3 meter diving events against Malone, including a team record and personal best score of 307.73. That mark was enough to achieve a qualifying score to compete in the NCAA Championships Dive-in meet on March 8th. Max is now qualified in both the 1 and 3 meter events.

The Cardinals are back in action at the GVSU Diving Invitational, which will be held Saturday and Sunday in Allendale.
