Tony Spicuzza Leads Cardinals at Doc Spragg Invitational

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team wrapped up its fall schedule at the Doc Spragg Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay at Findlay Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13–14. The Cardinals placed 13th out of 17 teams with a three-round total of 895 (+31).

Tony Spicuzza (Grandville, Mich. / Grandville HS) led SVSU, tying for 24th out of 90 golfers with a total score of 219 (+3). He opened with a 70 (-2) and followed with rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3), finishing with nine birdies across the event.

Evan Klein (Guelph, Ontario / Bishop Macdonell HS) followed four strokes behind at 223 (+7), carding consistent rounds of 74 (+2), 74 (+2), and 75 (+3). Klein led the Cardinals with 12 birdies, tying for seventh overall in the field, and ranked second among all players in par-five scoring at seven under (4.42 average).

Garrett Morrison (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing HS) finished just one stroke back with a three-round total of 224 (+8), posting rounds of 74 (+2), 78 (+6), and 72 (E).

Dominik Dostal (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Bloomfield Hills HS) and AJ Liguori (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing HS) rounded out the lineup. Dostal recorded rounds of 78 (+6), 76 (+4), and 78 (+6) for a 232 (+16), while Liguori carded 75 (+3), 81 (+9), and 79 (+7) for a total of 235 (+19).
