PIERSON, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf program competed at the Pilgrim's Run Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, finishing 11th in the 13-team field. The Cardinals posted a three-round score of 950 (+74) across three rounds.
SVSU was led by Evan Klein, who tied for 17th overall shooting 228 (+9) after rounds of 75, 75, and 78. Tony Spicuzza followed behind in 48th place with a 239 (+20) with rounds of 83, 76, and 80. Dominik Dostal, Garrett Morrison, and Jorge Basterra all shot within four of each other as Dostal finished with a 243 (+24), Morrison with a 246 (+27), and Basterra with a 247 (+28) in their Cardinal debuts.
Bradly VanDamme competed individually in his first tournament for SVSU and shot 270 (+51) over three rounds.
As a team, the Cardinals collected 28 birdies and 140 pars across the event. Klein ranked among the tournament's leaders in pars with 35, tying for fourth out of the 87 competitors.
